Woods Hole Summer Internships in the United States is presently accepting applications from international students.

Woods Hole Summer Internships

Undergraduate Students from All Over the World Participate in an International Internship. This Paid International Internship is open to students of any nationality.

Selected individuals will work with world-class scientists for 10 to 12 weeks.

The American government covers the costs of food, meals, visas, monthly allowances, and lodging.

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Organization is a non-profit research and higher education institution dedicated to marine science and engineering.

Due to the Pandemic, last year’s Woods Hole Internship in America was almost completed.

This year, depending on the scenario, they will give remote assistance; otherwise, students will be invited to attend this Youth Opportunity in the United States.

There is no application fee. Each year, the number of scholarships available varies.

The overall number of fully-funded scholarships is 30, although this number may be raised or lowered based on the results of the selection process.

Students interested in ocean science and engineering should apply.

Students from any field, however, are welcome to participate in this Exchange Program.

Woods Hole Internship 

Undergraduate students are eligible for Summer Student Fellowships.

Students in their junior year of college or university are eligible to apply.

Applicants must be pursuing a degree in one of the sciences or engineering areas.

Students who are interested in ocean sciences, marine policy, or oceanographic engineering are encouraged to apply.

Financial Benefits of Woods Hole Summer Internships

  • For the 10 to 12 week program, a weekly stipend is provided. For the summer of 2021, the stipend is $650 per week.
  • Travel to Woods Hole on a round-trip basis.
  • Two single beds per room in a shared room.
  • Selected participants will be assisted by international students in getting the requisite J-1 Visa paperwork.

Woods Hole Summer Internships Requirement

  • Other nationalities are welcome to participate in the program.
  • Undergraduate students in their third year are eligible to participate in the program.
  • Students who are in their second year of a three-year bachelor’s degree program, such as those in the United Kingdom, must be in their second year.
  • Students enrolled in a five-year combined bachelor’s/degree master’s program must be in their third year.
  • Students majoring in any discipline of science or engineering are given priority.
