United Nations Immersion Programme: UNITAR is pleased to offer two 5-day field visits to Geneva, Switzerland this summer.

Participants will get the opportunity to thoroughly immerse themselves in the host city of the major UN headquarters, gaining first-hand knowledge of the UN. The United Nations Immersion Programme is accepting applications from all across the world for the 2022 editions.

If individuals enrolled for the Geneva field visit are unable to travel to Switzerland this summer because of COVID-19-related travel limitations, they may attend the United Nations Online Immersion Programme free of charge.

United Nations Immersion Programme 2022 | Program Elements

The majority of UNITAR’s operations will take place in the historic Palais des Nations in Geneva, which serves as the UN’s headquarters. They’ll be made up of a delicate balance of the following elements:

Multilateral conferences
Private guided tours
Career development sessions

Requirements for Eligibility | United Nations Immersion Programme

Everyone with a strong interest in the United Nations is welcome to participate in the Immersion Program. Participants might come from the public or private sector, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), think tanks, and academia. Participants from all walks of life, including university students, are encouraged to apply.

Selection Criteria

A maximum of 20 participants per field visit and 30 participants per online training session will be permitted to achieve the highest quality requirements. On a first-come, first-served basis, slots will be assigned. All participants will get a UNITAR certificate of completion at the conclusion of each visit.
