UCL Otto Koenigsberger Scholarship for Masters Students in the UK 2022

For the academic year 2022/2023, University College London is accepting applications for the UCL Otto Koenigsberger Scholarship for Masters Students in the United Kingdom.

The OKS supports international candidates of the highest caliber for postgraduate study at the MSc level, with the expectation that as graduates, these scholars will make significant contributions to urban development by leveraging the DPU’s international perspective and leadership position in the development field.

In the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, Otto Koenigsberger was a renowned and widely recognized practitioner and educator whose practical and responsive approach to urban planning reoriented development planning worked in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

He was also the first director of the Development Planning Unit, which he founded.

The Development Planning Unit performs world-class research and postgraduate education to assist national governments, local governments, NGOs, aid agencies, and enterprises in the global south in achieving socially equitable and sustainable development.

The research of the DPU has a significant effect on development policy, practice, and thought. It has three key functions: to

• expand your knowledge of development procedures and techniques

• investigate the theoretical foundations of development thought and collaborative action in the public, civic, and commercial sectors.

• DPU’s teaching, capacity-building, and consulting efforts should be strengthened.

Worth of Award

This partial scholarship is worth £5,000 in tuition fees.

UCL Otto Koenigsberger Scholarship Requirements

• Applicants for the UCL Otto Koenigsberger Scholarship must meet the following requirements.

• be an international student beginning full-time studies in the Development Planning Unit for a Master’s degree

• have an unconditional offer of a seat at DPU and have accepted it.

• The grant is for partial tuition fee remission, and candidates must produce adequate documented proof of covering the remaining tuition costs and living expenses.
