Trustee Scholarship for International Undergraduate Students in USA 2022
For the academic year 2022/23, Boston University is accepting applications for the Trustee Scholarship for International Undergraduate Students in the United States.
Every year, around 20 excellent students are accepted into the Trustee Scholars Program at BU. Boston Institution is a Boston, Massachusetts-based private research university. Although the institution is nonsectarian, it has a long history with the United Methodist Church. Many of the present students achieved perfect 4.0-grade point averages and were at the top of their class in high school.

Worth of Award
A Trustee Scholarship provides full undergraduate tuition and required undergraduate student expenses for four years if specific conditions are satisfied.
Trustee Scholars join a unique campus community at BU that provides a variety of academic, cultural, and social possibilities.

- Trustee Scholars are intellectually and artistically ambitious, in addition to having outstanding academic qualifications.
- They exhibit unique perspectives, experiences, or accomplishments. In other words, they are not just great scholars, but also very well-rounded personalities.
How to Apply for the Trustee Scholarship
To be considered for a Trustee Scholarship, please complete the following form.
For admission to one of BU’s undergraduate degree programs, submit the Common or Coalition Application along with all needed documentation.
As part of your BU application, write the Trustee Scholarship essay on the Common or Coalition Application.
The Trustee Scholarship Essay:
Please choose one of the two prompts below and write a 600-word essay as part of your Common or Coalition Application.
- “Don’t inquire what the world needs,” Howard Thurman, the dean of BU’s Marsh Chapel from 1953 to 1965, once wrote. Ask yourself what brings you joy, and then go do it. Because the world needs those who have awakened.” Can you explain an event you’ve had or an activity you engage in that brings you to life? What steps would you take to include that event or activity into your BU experience?
- Describe a circumstance in which you felt out of your element or alienated. How did you react to the situation, and how has it influenced your future actions?
