Thomson Reuters/UN IFAD Reporting in East Africa 2022
The Thomson Reuters/UN IFAD Reporting on Food Security and Rural Development in East Africa 2022 is now accepting applications.
Food security is becoming more important across the world. Food costs are at all-time highs. But what are policymakers doing to address these concerns, and who is ensuring that the voices of rural poor people and their communities are heard and their experiences told?
This course is sponsored by the United Nations’ International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and it will help journalists present new perspectives and promote discussion on how small-scale agriculture can respond to rising food demand, as well as the critical need to support rural transformation as food insecurity, climate change, and economic uncertainty become more prevalent.
Journalists from East Africa are invited to apply for this course, which will cover topics such as food security, food production, markets, and climate change, as well as a skills lab on internet verification, social media, and digital storytelling. Participating will provide you with access to prominent IFAD experts as they examine methods to address the difficulties of addressing climate change, food security, and production issues in the context of increasing prices, the economic consequences of COVID-19, and global supply concerns. You will have the opportunity to question them about concerns in your nation.
Cost
The Thomson Reuters Foundation will pay participants’ data bills to guarantee a stable connection.
