Tech-U New Vice-Chancellor. The Governing Council of the Technical University, Ibadan, Oyo State, has approved Professor Adesola Ajayi’s nomination as the university’s 2nd substantive Vice-Chancellor.

Professor Olanike Adeyemo, Protem Council Chairman, made the announcement on behalf of the university’s Governing Council.

According to the statement, Ajayi would follow Professor Ayobami Salami, the university’s first Vice-Chancellor.

Professor Ajayi was selected through a thorough process in line with the University’s establishment laws.

The appointment is for a single term of five (5) years, commencing on May 9, 2022.

The new VC is the university’s current Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

In 1991, he graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, with a B.Agric. in Plant Science (First Class Honours) and the best overall score in the Faculty of Agriculture.

Ajayi is from Igbojaye in Itesiwaju Local Government Area, Oyo State.

In 1997, he earned an M.Phil. (Plant Science) with a specialization in Plant Breeding/Seed Production from the same university.

In 2003, he received his Doctor of Agricultural Science (Dr. sc. agr.) in Seed Biology from Christian Albrecht University in Kiel, Germany.
