What Crisis Demands of the Manager

It was a rare organization that did not face a crisis in the previous year. Most workplaces, whether commercial or public sector, small or large, had to hustle once the pandemic arrived in early 2022, and they still have to. Young people are frequently left to their own devices, whether at school, university or in their first job. Long-established ways of doing things were impractical, and trustworthy information was difficult to come by in such a complicated and fast-changing environment. A manager’s mettle is put to the test in such situations.

Your essay should give an insight into how to react successfully to a crisis, either on your experience as a manager, entrepreneur, or student or on an observation of a well-known institution.

What management or (educational) institution did you see making a good difference? What do you mean, and how do you mean it? Other questions to consider when you explain their decision-making or conduct are: Why is it so difficult for others in comparable positions to do the same? Is it a question of personality or training? How might managers be better trained in “normal” times to be better prepared to cope with the next crisis?

Finally, might this be the turning point for the younger generation – digital natives who, unlike their elders, have grown up in a world of social upheaval?

  • to take the initiative and pave the road forward? If that’s the case, explain how the younger generation – your generation – could be better (uniquely?) positioned to help us through this crisis and its consequences.
