Orange Knowledge Programme for International Students, 2022

Orange Knowledge Programme will be given to international students interested in studying in the Netherlands for the year 2022.

The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs developed and completely funds the Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP), which is now giving a scholarship program to international students interested in studying in the Netherlands.

This fellowship opportunity is offered to mid-career professionals in particular nations and intends to contribute to a society’s sustainable and inclusive growth.

Application Deadline:

  • Round 1 – for master’s and short courses
    1. Accepting applications between 2 February – 22 March at 16.00 CET.
    2. Both master’s and short courses should start between 25 July and 21 November 2022.
  • Round 2 – for short courses
    1. Accepting applications between 11 May – 28 June 16.00 CET.
    2. Courses should start between 21 November 2022 and 20 February 2023.
  • Round 3 – for short courses
    1. Accepting applications between 31 August – 11 October 16.00 CET.
    2. Courses should start from 20 February 2023 onward and must be completed before 31 August 2023.

Eligible Countries: Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Colombia Cuba, DR Congo, Egypt Ethiopia Ghana Georgia, Guatemala India, Indonesia Kenya  Jordan, Lebanon, Liberia Macedonia, Mali, Mozambique Myanmar Nepal, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestinian Territories Peru, Philippines, Rwanda Senegal, Sierra Leone Somalia, Sri Lanka, South Africa South Sudan, Sri Lanka Sudan, Suriname, Tanzania Uganda Thailand, Vietnam Yemen Zambia Zimbabwe.

Activities have been put on hold for Afghanistan. This means that Afghanistan will no longer take part in the Orange Knowledge Programme. Dutch embassies no longer issue visas for Afghan applicants, this also includes Afghan OKP scholarship holders.

Value of Award: A KOP fellowship is intended to supplement the salary that you should continue to receive during the study period in the Netherlands. The allowance is a contribution towards your costs of living, the costs of tuition fees, visas, travel, insurance and thesis research. If applicable, the fellowship holder is expected to cover the difference between the actual costs and the amount of the personal KOP NFP allowances.

Orange Knowledge Programme Requirements

  • Be a professional and a citizen of, and working and residing in, one of the nations included on the current OKP Country List.
  • Have a current employer’s declaration that meets Nuffic’s official requirements Any information must be presented, and all pledges made in the formal must be backed up by a statement.
  • Not work for a multinational corporation (e.g. Shell, Unilever, Microsoft), a large national and/or commercial organization; a bilateral donor organization (e.g. USAID, DFID, Danida, Sida, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, FinAid, AusAid, ADC, SwissAid); a multilateral donor organization (e.g. a UN organization, World Bank, IMF, Asian Development Bank, African Development Bank, African Development Bank (e.g. Oxfam, Plan, Care).
  • Have a current employer’s attestation that follows the format supplied by Nuffic. All facts must be presented, and all obligations must be affirmed in the statement.
  • Have a government statement that complies with the country’s regulations (if relevant).
  • Have an official passport that is valid for at least three months after the candidate’s registration form is submitted.
