Manulife has launched Canada’s first Life Lessons Scholarship Program for students who have lost a parent or guardian due to a lack of life insurance. The Scholarship Program alleviates the financial burden of paying for post-secondary education at a difficult period in a young person’s life and celebrates the strength of character that so many young people demonstrate in the face of hardship.

The Manulife Life Lessons Scholarship Program is dedicated to student achievement and provides financial assistance to students, making the decision to enroll in and complete a college, university, or trade school program a bit simpler.

Requirements for the Manulife Life Lessons Scholarship Program

Students who are presently enrolled in or have been admitted to a college, university, or trade school in Canada and who meet the following criteria:

are a Canadian permanent resident;
are between the ages of 17 and 24 at the time of application;
having had a parent or legal guardian pass away with little or no life insurance coverage

How to Apply for the Manulife Life Lessons Scholarship Program

You must submit a 500-word essay OR a 3-minute video on how the death of your parent or guardian has impacted your life financially and emotionally, in addition to some basic information.

Essays that are more than 500 words or films that are longer than three minutes will be dismissed immediately.
