KWASU to Commence B.Sc Taxation

This comes as the University prepares to host the 5th International Academic Conference on Taxation, dubbed “CITN/KWASU 2022,” which will take place from 15th to 18th of August, 2022.

This was revealed by the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN, during a courtesy visit by a team from the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) on Tuesday at the KWASU Business School in Ilorin.

The University is set to begin offering the career-oriented program, according to a Professor of Business Law who emphasized that the KWASU contains a Tax Academy.

The Vice-Chancellor, who reaffirmed the university’s dedication to academic excellence, added that the university offers a variety of professional certificate programs to prepare students for future career growth and opportunities.

The University’s preparedness to host the CITN conference was reinforced by the Legal bigwig, who also committed support to the institute and expressed confidence that the two institutions’ current partnership would be enhanced for mutual benefit.

In his welcome speech, Professor Mubaraq Sanni, Director of the Institute for Professional and Continuous Education (IPCE), KWASU, stressed the University’s commitment to advancing professionalism via a partnership with professional groups.

He praised CITN for collaborating with educational institutions and forming a collaboration with KWASU in the development of tax professionals and the progress of Nigeria’s tax system.

As a result, the Director sought CITN’s cooperation in the areas of research, community development, entrepreneurship, and human resource exchange.

Prof. Godwin Oyedokun, the delegation’s leader, praised KWASU for serving as an ambassador for CITN, adding that the institute’s objectives are effectively incorporated within the university.

He guaranteed KWASU of the Institute’s assistance in its pursuit of academic and scientific excellence, among other things.
