KDU Global IUCEA Undergraduate Scholarships for East African Students 2022

For the academic year 2022/23, the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) is accepting applications for the KDU Global IUCEA Undergraduate Scholarships for East African Students.

The major goal of the KDU Global – IUCEA Scholarships is to help EAC member nations achieve sustainable and inclusive development by fostering and providing highly sought-after experts in business administration, hotel management and tourism, and computer technologies.

Worth of Scholarship

The following items are covered under the scholarship:

  • For up to four years, the entire tuition amount of $10,000 per year will be charged (by KDU Global).
  • $1,600 per year for up to four years of on-campus housing (by KDU Global)
  • Every two years, at the beginning and end of the year, a return plane ticket is purchased (by IUCEA)
  • For the next four years, you will get monthly health insurance assistance (by IUCEA)
  • After being selected, there is a $200 application processing and handling charge (by IUCEA).

KDU Global IUCEA Undergraduate Scholarships | Eligibility Criteria

The following general qualifying standards must be met by applicants:

  • East African Community Partner States citizen and inhabitant (Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda).
  • In 2020 or 2021, the pre-university level of schooling in the home nation will be completed.
  • Excellent academic records, with a minimum grade of ‘B’ in all math and English courses.
  • Prior to final admission to KDU Global, selected applicants must demonstrate English proficiency of at least IELTS 5.5 or IBT 71.
  • This criterion may be waived for applicants whose first language is English.
  • You must be at least 22 years old.

KDU Global IUCEA Undergraduate Scholarships | How to Apply

Upload any necessary papers, such as

  • A recent color passport image with a clean shot of the face and upper shoulders is required.
  • Detailed curriculum vitae (CV) including the names and contact information for two references.
  • Two letters of recommendation (the same references as in the CV, one of whom should be the Head of the Institution where the student finished his or her secondary education).
  • Certified copies of pre-university credentials and transcripts from throughout the country (Provisional Results will only be temporarily acceptable if endorsed by the Issuing National Agency).
  • Passport/National ID and residence attest are necessary as proof of citizenship and resident in an East African Community Partner State.

Please keep in mind that all materials must be consolidated into a single PDF file before being submitted to the IUCEA.
