Johnson & Johnson MSc Global Mental Health Scholarships 2022-2023

The Johnson & Johnson MSc Global Mental Health Scholarships 2022-2023 are now accepting applications.

The MSc Global Mental Health program is a collaboration between the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and King’s College London’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience (KCL).

Students will gain the information and skills necessary to start, create, and monitor mental health initiatives and/or policies in low-resource contexts, as well as to conduct and critically assess global mental health research. Students with these skills and expertise will be able to make significant contributions to the fields of research, policy, and practice in the field of global mental health.

Award

Through a generous grant from Janssen Pharmaceutica, the Janssen Global Mental Health Scholarship Fund was established in 2012. (part of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies). The Johnson & Johnson Scholarship Fund was established in 2018 and will provide an extra 18 scholarships over the next five years. This prize will be given every year until 2022. (for 2022-23 academic year).

Students accepted into the MSc Global Mental Health program at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine may apply for one of three Johnson & Johnson Global Mental Health Scholarships.

Each scholarship will cover the following expenses:

  • complete tuition at KCL’s international price rate;
  • a GBP 17,633.00 stipend (living allowance); and
  • a GBP 500.00 allocation for MSc project expenditures

Johnson & Johnson MSc Global Mental Health Scholarships | Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be citizens of one of the following countries and live in that country on a regular basis:

  • Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, and South Africa are all in Africa.
    Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam are all in Southeast Asia.
    Nicaragua and Peru are two countries in South America.
  • If selected for this grant, applicants from non-English speaking nations must complete the English Language Requirements (see Band D). For their scholarship application to be reviewed further, applicants who have been selected for this funding must produce evidence of English language competency by 23:59 (BST) on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. This is a non-negotiable deadline.

How to Apply for the Johnson & Johnson MSc Global Mental Health Scholarships

Applicants must complete all stages mentioned below by the dates listed in order to be considered for this award.

Step 1: Complete and submit an application for the MSc Global Mental Health program using the King’s College London online application site by Sunday, February 13, 2022, at 23:59 (GMT).

Step 2: By 23:59 (GMT) on Sunday, March 20, 2022, submit an online scholarship application, choosing this scholarship choice from the drop-down menu. The following papers must be submitted to the scholarship application.

Either of the following two possibilities:

  • Proof of your MSc in Global Mental Health application submission for 2022-23 (this may be a PDF document or image of your submission confirmation email dated on or before Sunday 13 February 2022), or Letter of Offer from KCL for the MSc Global Mental Health program for 2022-23; and
  • If you already have this, the results of your English Proficiency test. (If you do not yet have sufficient English proficiency score results, you must get them and submit them by Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 23:59 (BST).
