The Jim Leech Mastercard Foundation Fellowship provides you with the confidence, resources, expertise, network, and financial assistance necessary to launch a successful firm.

The program is divided into three online courses for African students and recent graduates who want to solve pressing problems and bring entrepreneurial ideas to life.

You will learn the foundations of entrepreneurship, receive virtual coaching, develop your own business idea, and demonstrate your commitment to advance to the next course.

Program Phases for Jim Leech Mastercard Foundation

There are three stages to this Fellowship project:

  • Phase 1: From December 2021 to February 2022, this phase will take place. The African Mastercard Foundation Scholars program has 1,000 participants from all of the partnering colleges. A total of 1,000 people will be chosen based on the application, which will close on November 30, 2021, at midnight local time.
  • This phase comprises of step 0-11 of the Disciplined Entrepreneurship framework’s experiential entrepreneurship training and concept discovery activities
  • Phase 2: This phase will last from February through April of 2022. There are a total of 30 participants or concepts. These 30 people or concepts will be chosen based on the first phase’s final assignment delivery.
  • In this phase, the most feasible, strongest submissions that address real challenges in their regions, countries, Africa, or globally will be shortlisted.
  • This phase comprises steps 12-24 of the Disciplined Entrepreneurial Process’ experiential entrepreneurship training and concept research activity.
  • Phase 3: April 2022 through August 2022 is the duration of this phase. There are a total of 15 participants or concepts.
  • The final assignment delivery at the conclusion of phase two will determine which of these 15 people or concepts will be chosen.
  • The most practical and compelling proposals that address genuine concerns in their communities, nations, Africa, or internationally will be selected and nominated as Jim Leech Mastercard Foundation Fellows in 2022. The firm formation procedure, financial incentives, mentoring, pitch presentations, and other resources are all included in this phase.
