The World Bank Group’s Climate Change Action Plan, which complements the Africa Climate Business Plan, pledges that 35 percent of the World Bank Group’s support will go directly to climate action over the next five years.

Because if inclusive, climate-informed development is not implemented quickly throughout the area, 43 million more people might be forced into poverty by 2030.

Worth of Award for Group Plant Trees

  • The five entries with the most votes will be awarded $1,000 each.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35.

They must also be citizens of one of the nations listed below:

Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sao Tome and Principe, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

How to Apply for Group Plant Trees

In the case of video contributions,

  • The video must be unique and no longer than one minute.
  • In a quiet location, record in English or French (no music or background noise).
  • Make sure the video isn’t wobbly by keeping the camera stationary when recording.
  • To guarantee optimal audio quality, listen to your audio before uploading.
  • Beyond conventional optimization, videos should not be edited or otherwise manipulated.

While for photo submissions,

  • A maximum of three photos may be submitted. A montage of photos may also be shown.
  • Please add essential statements explaining the activities in writing with your submission.
  • Photos that have been edited or otherwise changed beyond conventional optimization, or photos that have been duplicated from another source, will be dismissed.

Deadline: Submissions for the Plant Trees Not Plastics Photo/Video Competition are due on November 30, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. (EST).
