The Geneva Challenge 2022: Contest for Graduate Students

Applications for the Geneva Challenge 2022 are now being accepted.

The 2022 Advancing Development Goals International Graduate Student Contest seeks to provide new and realistic solutions to poverty reduction concerns.

The objective is to collect ideas that are both theoretically based and give pragmatic answers to a significant international development challenge as a result of interdisciplinary cooperation between three to five enrolled master students from anywhere in the globe.

About the Program: The 2022 Geneva Challenge

It is a project sponsored by the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies and supported by Swiss Ambassador Jenö Staehelin that seeks to stimulate interdisciplinary problem-solving analysis among master students on furthering human development within the context of a relevant issue.

Students are being asked to provide analysis-based suggestions on “The Challenges of Poverty Reduction” this year.

What to Expect

Teams of 3-5 master students must submit an 8,000-word proposal that includes the following information:

  • offers an interdisciplinary investigation of how it influences many elements of development in a particular (yet transposable) setting;
  • recommends policy, practice, process, or technological innovation to transform the difficulty into a development opportunity.
