FUNAAB Postgraduate Admission Requirements.

Here are the requirements for all prospective applicants to FUNAAB Postgraduate courses.

  • You must be a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc, B.A, etc) holder in a relevant discipline from any recognized University.
  • All candidate must have satisfied their basic UTME requirements for Bachelor’s degree.
  • Applicants from Polytechnics with HND (Upper Credit and above) can also apply.
  • All candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science are eligible to apply for the Postgraduate Diploma Programme in Animal Science.
  • All applicants for the Master’s degree postgraduate studies must be FUNAAB Alumna or any accredited university.
  • You must have obtained a minimum of Second Class (Upper Division) degree in the relevant field.

Note: Any applicant with a Second Class Lower Degree in a relevant field may be considered.

The requirements for the Masters of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) programme – FUNAAB

To be eligible for the Masters of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) programme.

Candidate must meet the following requirements

  • You must be an HND holder plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science or
  • A B.Sc. holder in Physical Sciences/Engineering and Allied Disciplines.
  • Your ability to understand computing or IT exposure is important but not mandatory.
  • If you’re applying for admission into the Masters and Ph.D. programmes in Communication Studies, you are expected to be a degree holder in Arts, Science, Applied Science, Social Science, and Education or other related disciplines.

The requirements for MBA (AgriBusiness) in FUNAAB

To be eligible for admission into the MBA (Agribusiness) postgraduate degree, the candidate must meet the following requirements.

  • You must be holders of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University; or
  • Have an HND (Upper Credit minimum) with a Postgraduate Diploma in any discipline.
  • Applicants with a Postgraduate Diploma in Communication studies with a minimum cumulative average of 55% may be accepted for a Master’s Degree in Communication Studies.

Each prospective applicant with a relevant professional qualification and/or experience will be an advantage.

A credit pass in O’ Level Mathematics is not compulsory for admission into Professional Master in Communication Studies.

That programme is strictly a part-time (Friday and Saturday) programme. Moreover, the enrolled candidates can take this programme in a minimum of 4 semesters.

Masters of Environment Management (MEM) is a three-semester professional programme designed for captains of industries.

If you want to enroll in this programme, you must be a degree holder or HND holder with distinction/credit pass plus PGD in relevant fields.

You must have also satisfied all basic UTME requirements before submitting your application for admission.

Masters of Environment Management and Protection (MEMP) is an academic Master’s Degree that runs for a minimum of four (4) semesters.

The Requirement for M. Agric

M. Agric applicants in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management. Applicant must have obtained a B. Agric (Agric Economics) with Second Class Upper.

Other disciplines will be admitted to M.Sc. (Professional) with the prospect of conversion to MAgric on attaining a minimum weighted average score of 60% after the first year.

Masters of Veterinary Science (M .V.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) courses are open to:

  • M.V.Sc. – Master of Veterinary Science is open to Graduates of Veterinary Medicine of FUNAAB and other Universities recognized by Senate.

Any other qualification adjudged to be equivalent to a DVM by the Senate. Candidates must satisfy any other requirements as specified by the postgraduate school of FUNAAB.

  • M.Sc.: – The Master of Science degree is open to Graduates of Biological Sciences of FUNAAB and other universities recognized by the Senate.

Fellows of the Nigerian Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology or its equivalent may also be considered. Applicants must satisfy any other requirements as designated by the FUNAAB Postgraduate School.

For the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree programme, a student must have obtained a Master’s degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine of FUNAAB.

Candidate from other Universities recognized by Senate can also submit their application. Note that your qualification adjudged must be equivalent to a Master’s degree by the Senate.

The duration of study for the Master’s degree programme shall be a minimum of four (4) semesters.

Candidates can have up to a maximum of eight (8) semesters for full-time applicants. The part-time studies shall have a minimum of 6 semesters and a maximum of 10 semesters.

Part-time students must finish all course works within the first four semesters of their registration.

FUNAAB Doctor of Philosophy degree programme

To be eligible for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy degree programme.

Applicants must have obtained a Master’s degree from FUNAAB or its equivalent from any other Universities acknowledged by Senate.

Holders of one year Master’s Degree are required to undergo a conversion examination after the first session before continuing to a Ph.D. programme.

All applicants for academic Masters and Ph.D. programmes shall be required to submit a research proposal along with their application forms.

In futher, you may be required to interact (in oral or written form) with their respective Departments before admission.

Here are the procedures for all prospective applicants into the FUNAAB postgraduate programmes.

Note: Application cost is Fifteen Thousand Five Hundred and Sixty Naira (N15,560:00) only exclusive of Bank Charges.

However, the application portal for Masters and PGD programmes was open on Monday, May 18, 2020, and it’s expected to be closed on January 9th, 2021.
