For the academic year 2022/2023, the University of Leeds is accepting applications for the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Fluid Dynamics in the UK.

The Centre for Doctoral Training in Fluid Dynamics combines tailored teaching courses with interdisciplinary research training to provide you with the best of both worlds. As a result, you’ll be part of a welcoming group of research students. These are students from various academic backgrounds who are all interested in various elements of fluid dynamics.

You will participate in a variety of personalized seminars, lectures, and practical labs throughout the taught portions of your course. Fluid Dynamics will be covered in terms of computational, experimental, and analytical elements.

You will also get access to a variety of personal development activities. Attending and participating in frequent seminar series, seminars, conferences, and training activities are examples of these.

And, as frosting on the cake, your PhD research will be backed by supervisors from at least two different participating institutions, allowing you to participate in interdisciplinary research.

Worth of Scholarship

  • A complete standard studentship includes academic costs of up to £4,600, as well as a £15,285 maintenance stipend.

Requirements for the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Fluid Dynamics

You must meet the following criteria to be considered for the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Fluid Dynamics.

  • A degree in engineering, mathematics, or science that is comparable to a UK first-class honours or a high upper second class.
  • In a similar vein, an IELTS score of 6.5 overall is the minimal English language admittance criterion for postgraduate research studies.
  • This requires a minimum of 6.5 in writing and 6.0 in reading, listening, and speaking, or an equal combination of skills.
  • Please keep in mind that the exam must be taken within two years of the course’s commencement date to be legitimate.
  • It’s also worth noting that certain colleges and faculties have a higher standard.
