CyberGirls Fellowship 2022 for Young Female Africans

The CyberGirls Fellowship 2022 is now accepting applications. CyberGirls is a one-year fellowship that provides girls with in-demand cybersecurity skills, allowing them to take advantage of job possibilities in Africa and throughout the globe.

This effort attempts to address poverty in the computer sector, as well as cybercrime, cybersecurity skills shortages, unemployment, and gender disparities (particularly cybersecurity niche).

During the one-year fellowship, CyberGirls recipients will be exposed to computing and cybersecurity fundamentals, career paths in cybersecurity, and will be guided through an appropriate learning path to gain hands-on skills, mentorship, certification readiness, paid internship/job shadowing opportunities, and, if old enough, secure entry-level job placement.

Learning Paths: The learning path has been developed to start with digital literacy and move in a methodical manner from fundamental cybersecurity ideas to more specialized specialist cybersecurity learning. Beneficiaries will pick and concentrate on one of the following tracks/career options halfway during the fellowship.

Threat Intelligence: Learn how to analyze and enhance an organization’s security posture by analyzing data provided by networks, apps, and other IT infrastructure.

Cloud Security: Learn and use fundamental network security procedures in a cloud context, as well as analyze risk levels and current vulnerabilities affecting cloud services.

Vulnerability/Penetration Testing: Learn the fundamentals of penetration testing and vulnerability testing. Scanning, counting, and exploitation using software and command-line tools.

(SOC Analyst Level 1) Incident Analysis/Response: Vulnerability analysis, intrusion detection, attack defense, and network/resources restoration are all supported by numerous incident analysis tools and approaches.

IT Security Audit: This section addresses the fundamentals of security auditing. What is an IT Security Audit, why is it important, and how can it be done?
