Call for Code Global Challenge 2022 for Developers ($285,000 prize)

The Call for Code Global Challenge 2022 is officially accepting applications.

 Code Global Challenge

The Call for Code Global Challenge is a competition that challenges developers and problem solvers to provide long-term open source solutions to the world’s most pressing social and humanitarian problems.

This year’s competition will focus on critical global environmental challenges.

You may learn about AI, cloud development, and future technologies while making a difference by participating in the Call for Code Global Challenge. Form a group and tackle challenges like strengthening supply chains, finding renewable energy solutions, and protecting wildlife.

About the Challenge

How can technology help build a greener future by improving sustainable resource production, consumption, and management, reducing pollution, and protecting biodiversity?

Design and construct an open source cloud solution to address a sustainability problem as part of the 5th annual Call for Code Global Challenge. They’re encouraging developers and problem solvers to use open innovation to create technological solutions that address particular global sustainability issues in novel, provable ways. The winning Global Challenge solution will get implementation help from IBM and the Call for Code ecosystem, allowing it to make a significant difference in the most vulnerable areas.

One of the many concerns related to sustainability should be the focus of your Global Challenge solution:

  • Develop effective and efficient methods for promoting, preserving, and protecting biodiversity in a quantifiable manner.
  • Reduce global food insecurity through improving distribution or adopting sustainable agricultural techniques, for example.
  • To promote environmental justice, remove obstacles to fair access to education and career opportunities.
  • Enhance your capacity to quantify, evaluate, and act decisively on carbon emissions.
  • Improve access to renewable energy that is both cheap and dependable.
  • Improve supply chain transparency and traceability so that sustainability concerns may be identified quickly and accurately.
  • Address water shortage and quality challenges.
  • Reduce the amount of and demand for waste-producing items (plastics, electronics, food, and textiles), and promote reuse and recycling options.
