Until January 1989, the Borno State Scholarship Board was a division of the Ministry of Education.

The Board was strengthened and granted independent powers in January 1989.

The board was founded by Edict No. 3 of 1989, which took effect on April 13, 1989, as an independent entity.

The Board was tasked with conducting student interviews for scholarship awards and disbursing allowances to all qualified applicants from Borno State who were accepted into institutions of higher learning in the nation and abroad as foreign sponsorship or allowances.

About The Borno State Scholarship

The Borno State Scholarship is a scholarship awarded by the Borno State Government.

The government of Borno offers two different types of scholarships. There are two types of scholarships: local and foreign.

Local Scholarship

If you are a Borno state student presently enrolled in any public college of education, polytechnic, or university in Nigeria, you are eligible for this scholarship.

International Scholarship

You may apply for this scholarship if you are a resident of the state who is attending a tertiary institution outside of Nigeria.

Here is the requirement for the Borno State Scholarship.

To be eligible for the Borno 2022 scholarship, you must satisfy the following requirements:

  • You must be a native of Borno State.
  • Must be a student at a recognized Nigerian public institution, such as a College of Education, Polytechnic, or University.
  • You must be a Borno State resident presently enrolled in any internationally recognized postsecondary institution.

How to Apply for Borno State Scholarship 2022

To apply for the Borno State scholarship, you must follow the following steps;

  • Go to their official website to apply
  • Click on apply for either local or international scholarship
  • Choose the kind of scholarship you want to apply for.
  • Make sure your email address is correct when creating an account.
  • An email with a confirmation link will be issued to you to validate your account. You will be led to the login page after clicking the confirmation link.
  • Fill in your email address and password in the corresponding login fields.
  • After signing in, you will be led to the payment page. You may make your payment there.
  • After you’ve made your payment, you’ll be able to view the application form.
  • There are many phases to the application. Fill up the blanks at each level with the required information.
  • After each level, save your work and go on to the next.
  • You will be requested to upload and store a recent passport picture in the first step. Keep all of your paperwork close at hand.
  • The following step is for you to provide your academic information.
  • In the next step, you will be asked to give any employment information if you are employed. If you are not formally employed, you may skip this level.
  • You will next be requested to enter your banking information.
  • Following that, you will be asked to submit the names and contact information for two references who will be standing in for you.
  • You’ll then be sent to an upload page where you’ll be required to submit scanned copies of your acceptance letter, indigene certificate, and school ID.
  • It is recommended that you go back and reread what you have entered before clicking submit.
  • You may submit after you are certain that everything is in order.
  • Please keep in mind that your application will be subjected to a series of evaluations. As a result, double-check that all of your information is correct.
  • Finally, you must send your printed application form to the Borno State Scholarship Board together with each of the following documents: admission letter, school ID, and Indigene certificate.
