3. International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS)

Outstanding international applicants from any country with a First Class Honours result or equivalent are eligible for International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS).

The Graduate Scholarships Committee at the University of Adelaide selects and ranks applications based on academic achievement and research promise.

There is no charge for submitting an application.

Applicants must have achieved at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Honours degree in order to be considered (this is a four-year degree with a major research project in the final year).

All qualified programs of study must be completed satisfactorily.

Academic excellence and research potential will be considered for awarding scholarships.

Extracurricular accomplishments are not taken into account.

The IPRS covers: Course tuition expenses for two years for a Master’s degree by research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (only doctoral programs are eligible for extensions);

All IPRS candidates who are accepted will also receive an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA), which offers a $26,288 yearly living stipend for the length of the program.

If the awardee has a subclass 574 visa, the scholarship will cover the cost of a standard Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Worldcare coverage for the student, their spouse, and their dependents (if any) for the duration of the scholarship.

If the awardee does not have a subclass 574 visa, the expense of health insurance is the responsibility of the awardee.

The grant does not cover the cost of applying for a student visa.

4. University of Sydney International Research Scholarships

International students may apply for the University of Sydney Scholarship, which is a fully financed master’s and Ph.D. scholarship.
