The Association of Commonwealth Institutions (ACU) welcomes applications for her 2022 Fellowships offered to the academic and professional staff, or the nominations, of ACU member universities.

ACU Fellowships enable cross-national cooperation and the formation of beneficial new collaborations between ACU member institutions. It offers a broad range of fellowships available in 2022 for ACU member university personnel in a number of subjects, ranging from climate action to engineering. This money is just for virtual cooperation; it will not cover the costs of actual travel.

It is recommended that applicants apply for just one of these fellowships:

Accountancy Fellowship (Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales)
Agriculture, Forestry & Food Science Fellowship (George Weston Limited)
Canada Fellowships – (Gordon and Jean Southam)
Engineering (Wighton) Fellowship
Hong Kong Jockey Club Fellowships – inward and outside
Information Technology and Computer Science Fellowship (Jacky McAleer Memorial)

Worth of Scholarship

Each fellowship is worth a maximum of GBP 5,000.

ACU Fellowships | Eligibility Criteria

The scholarships are mainly for ACU member institutions’ academic and professional employees.

They may be utilized for cooperation between academia and the commercial sector in specific cases.

Fellowships in the following disciplines are available that do not have a particular topic attached:

Education
Health and related social sciences
Information technology and management
STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects
Sustainable development
University development and management

How to Apply for the ACU Fellowships

Applicants must first locate and contact a collaborator at an ACU member institution in a nation other than the applicant’s home country.

Applicants must complete the following as part of the application form:

Explain what they aim to do during the fellowship and how the partnership will help the project. Explain why they selected to cooperate with their specific partner institution for the project over others.
Describe how the fellowship work will most likely have an effect.
Explain how they anticipate the fellowship to help them advance their careers.
Make a list of the fellowship’s anticipated outcomes.
Submit a work schedule for a period of at least six months between September 2022 and August 2023.
Make a list of the fellowship’s expenses. Staff time, consumables, internet access and data, equipment, research data management, impact and engagement, and open access are examples of these.
Submit a letter or email of support from their home institution’s head of department.
Send a letter or email from a collaborator at their partner institution expressing their support.
