ABEI/HADDAD Fellowship for Scholarship for Irish Studies in Northern Ireland 2022

The Scholarship for Irish Studies – ABEI/HADDAD Fellowship for M.Phil. in 2022/23 is being offered by Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin, Ireland.

For prospective and existing students interested in studying or doing research at Ireland’s finest institution, Trinity College Dublin offers a variety of scholarship possibilities.

Since its founding in 1592, Trinity College Dublin has worked to help low-income students and to recognize academic accomplishment. Students are constantly encouraged to look into other sources of support in their native countries.

Worth of Scholarship

The Fellowship covers one year’s international tuition fees (2022–2023) as well as a monthly stipend of €15,000.

ABEI/HADDAD Fellowship | Eligibility Criteria

Eligible courses are:

  • Literary Translation (M. Phil.)
  • M. Phil in Modern Irish History
  • M.Phil. in Theatre and Performance is a master’s degree in theatre and performance.
  • M. Phil in Creative Writing
  • The student must have completed their undergraduate degree or be regularly enrolled in a postgraduate programme at the time of enrolment.
  • For undergraduates, the student must have a grade point average of at least 7, and for post-graduates, an A or B.
  • The student must not be enrolled in a study abroad program.
  • The student must be an ABEI member and pay their yearly dues on time (www.abei.org).
  • On their application, the student should mention their Trinity application number.
  • They are welcome to apply before receiving an offer of admission, but they will only be considered for the scholarship if Trinity makes them an offer of admission.
  • After March 31st and before April 22nd, students applying to Trinity for the M. Phil in Creative Writing should email Antonio de Linares [email protected].

How to Apply for the ABEI/HADDAD Fellowship

  • Form to register (available on the CCInt-FFLCH website);
  • In English, a letter of interest outlining why the student picked the program, their academic interests, and how his or her research project (abstract of the proposal) or current study program would benefit (maximum 3 pages or 1500 words);
  • A recent scholarly article (maximum of 7 pages or 3000 words) prepared in English;
  • Certificate of competency in English. If taken within two years of the application date, Trinity will accept the following competence exams:
  • 6.5 on the IELTS (No section less than 6.0)
  • TOEFL: iBT: 88, 230: computer-based, and 570: paper-based
  • University of Cambridge: 180+ on the Cambridge English scale, with a minimum of 175 in each skill and application of English, i.e.
  • Certificate of Proficiency, Grade C or higher (CEFR Level C1 or C2) Grade C or better on the Advanced Certificate (CEFR Level C1 or C2) Grade A First Certificate (CEFR Level C1)#
  • A minimum score of 63 on the Pearson Test of English (Academic) – PTE Academic is required (with no section score below 59)
  • Updated student transcripts from Sistema Jupiterweb or Janusweb, or from another Brazilian university;
  • Curriculum Vitae (students are required to bring their Curriculum Lattes);
  • Two English-language reference letters were submitted to [email protected];
  • A copy of the student’s passport that is valid for at least the duration of the exchange program.
